HSOT September Program Reminder
Sep 7, 2018
Please join us for our September Program:
Carnegie Art Center • Once the Center of Town A Brief History of the Carnegie Building and Its Ongoing Evolution as a Community Resource Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 7:00 PM Carnegie Art Center • 240 Goundry St., North Tonawanda
Meet Marcus Stanfill, Program Coordinator of the Carnegie Art Center. Stanfill grew up in Alaska and has extensive background in performing and visual arts. He is excited about the new life that has been breathed into the Center by dedicated staff, volunteers, and board members.
Stanfill will present a brief history on the Carnegie Center from its 1903 inception, when it was actually the center of town, through the changing times and purpose, to the new visions for the future. A tour of the building will culminate the evening’s program as we view the transition of the original building.
Bring your calendars to mark some of the upcoming programs you won’t want to miss.
Before our October meeting, everyone should take a drive down Ganson Street in North Tonawanda to view the homes and take a look at the Renaissance Club to help you visualize a very interesting program on local history to be presented by the authors of The Ganson Street Tigers Go To War. For details and ordering information on this fascinating new book, please visit the society’s Gift Shop.
