Come join us for the 2017 Canal Fest Flea Market this Saturday 9 to 4 and Sunday 10 to 3 at Clinton Park, Clinton & Broad Streets, Tonawanda.
Once again, the Society will be sponsoring the Canal Fest Flea Market. As always, our more than twenty five vendors will offer a wide range of merchandise, so there will be something for everyone.
In previous years, the Society has also offered for sale large quantities of gently used merchandise generously donated by our members. Not so in 2017. While the Society will have its usual space near the gazebo, its merchandise will be limited to hardcover and paperback books donated by one member and a number of wood crates and assorted bottles donated by another. These severely limited offerings have been dictated by a severe shortage of both storage space and manpower.
As the society’s volunteers mature, hauling and setting up tables, pricing, packing, loading, transporting, unloading, displaying and selling merchandise is a physical challenge no longer able to be met. It is our hope that, in future years, more able assistants will step forward and allow us to go back to the former types of offerings.
In the meantime, please make time during your visit to Canal Fest to attend the market and patronize all of the vendors. Even with the reduced Society format, this is a good fund raiser for us, but your support is needed to insure its success.
